The Week In Review

The biggest note here is obviously that Danbury has won its first road game! Last night, 5-4 in OT over Broome. Also, Danbury's first OT win.

  • The 4-2 loss the previous night to the Privateers was disappointing, but to come back from the initial deficit showed some spirit. We're getting there. Soon enough the road losses will be solved.
  • The actual low point over the course of the week was Game 7 against the Warriors, that Danbury dropped 7-4 on four allowed shorthanded goals. Hopefully it was just an off night, because the defense has rebounded a bit since then.
  • Danbury is now at 9 games played (5-3-1) for 11 points, still 2nd place in the league
  • We saw Donovan for 10 minutes of the Warriors game, and he let in 3 goals on 4 shots. Only increases my confidence even more in Niedert.
  • Willock and Velasquez are exploding as points powerhouses for Danbury. Willock: 9 games played, 8 goals, 6 assists, 14 points, +4. Velasquez: 9 games played, 4 goals, 9 assists, 13 points, +4. Karlov a close third.
  • On the 16th, Andy Strathmann was waived and Lynn Beedle was signed. Beedle is at 1 game played, 1 assist, -1 rating.
  • Danbury is at 20.93% on the Powerplay, 4th in the league, and 86.67% on the PK, 2nd in the league.

We're at New York tomorrow night, then home against New York Saturday.
