Transaction News, 12/30: Danbury signs Skoggard

Lots of transactions happening today. Looks like everybody doing their end of year housecleaning. We'll get to the important stuff at the end.

New York Aviators: Ryan Hitchcock waived.
100 Islands Privateers: Schwartz, Jones, Colosimo waived. Romeo activated from IR
Cape Cod Barons: Boyer, Gehring recalled by Riverhawks. Peter Skoggard traded to Danbury. No return specified.

Skoggard to Danbury really confuses me. He was definite starter material for the Barons and won more often than not. He's still one of the highest rated goalies in the league. Wondering right now if he wasn't willing to move with the team to their new home. Regardless, I can't envision Danbury being terribly interested in a shake-up of their goaltending roster because both Niedert and Donovan have performed admirably when called upon, Donovan more so lately.

I think it would be more likely that Skoggard is trade bait or that Danbury wants to carry three goalies, as unlikely as that may seem.

More to come.
