Since they became the Carolina Hurricanes over ten years ago, the Hartford Whalers have developed somewhat of a cult following that continues to this day. One need look no further than the Federal Hockey League's new Danbury Whalers to see that the name, and the fans, are far from dead. So strong is the belief that this team has the ability to succeed that the Whalers Booster Club has given its official blessing for the name to be used. We sit now on the eve of opening night, and I have been assured by numerous staff members at the arena this week that there will be a sellout crowd.
As a life long Danbury resident and hockey fan of a few years now, I hold season tickets in Section 102, seat K-1. For each and every Whalers game plus some from around the league, I'll be doing my best to keep you up to date on the latest and greatest. I'll be at the arena starting at 10am today for the team practice and will be updating periodically until puck drop.
2010-2011 is going to be a great year for us. Glad to have you along for the ride. Let's Go Whalers!!!!!
